‘The Swallows’ Extended School Provision
Breakfast and Afterschool Club
Our successful provision is well established and is run by our own experienced staff so the children feel safe and happy being cared for by people they know well and see in and around the school in other roles, on a day to day basis. All the staff have enhanced DBS checks and are paediatric first aid trained. The school maintains the level of staffing in Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club in accordance with Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and a member of the Senior Leadership Team is always present within the school whilst the clubs are open. The club can be booked via School Gateway (please refer to The Swallows policy).
The Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am to 8.45am for Reception children to Year 6 and the After School Club runs from 3.15pm to 6.00pm for Reception children to Year 6, term time only. The cost is £4.50 per hour or part of an hour.
Rates for Nursery children: Breakfast club from 7.30am to 8.40am £5.00 After School Club from 3.15pm-4.15pm £4.50 from 3.15pm-5pm £9.00
Children from Nursery class up to Year 6 are able to attend. This provision is exclusively for Swallow Dell children only.
Cancellations: Breakfast Club can be cancelled up until 07.00 on that day. You can leave a message on the Breakfast Club answer machine. Afterschool Club can be cancelled up until 12midday of that day: you will need to inform the school office and NOT leave a message on the answer machine. Failure to do so will incur payment in full.
Information
Both clubs are run from ‘The Dell,’ the school dining room within the Sweet Briar building. The children also have easy access to the main hall, computing suite, playgrounds and playing field. A variety of resources and activities are provided in both clubs and are tailored to the ages and needs of the children. This includes, drawing, painting and other arts and crafts activities, reading, board games, IPADS, construction, jigsaws, cooking, gardening, imaginative play and homework support if requested! They even have a film night every half term and enjoy eating popcorn and hot dogs!
